Land North of River Tees
Impetus also owns land at the Billingham Chemical Complex adjacent to the River Tees off Haverton Hill Road.These sites are dormant but have been strategically acquired to provide a platform for new technologies as part of our total waste solutions strategy.
The land areas are currently known as:
- Billingham Site A – (approx 41 acres) – Billingham Chemical Complex
- Billingham Site B – (approx 9 acres) – Billingham Chemical Complex
- Casbourne Site – (approx 13 acres) – Adjacent to the River Tees
Billingham Site A & B
40.54 acres and 9 acres located on the Billingham Chemical Complex. The sites have access to all main services and utilities. Due to their location, operators will have the opportunity to provide utilities and services to other users of the Billingham Complex, with direct access to National Grid and local area network connections (NEDL).The sites can be accessed via the A19 and A66 main arterial routes.
The sites are adjacent to significant rail sidings, which are linked to the national rail network, offering the ability to bring large volumes (in excess of 1 million tonnes per annum) of material / waste to site.
Historic uses of the sites were for industrial plants, chemical plants and energy generation.
The sites are designated in the Local Plan for potentially hazardous activities.
Casbourne
13 acres of land with river frontage located opposite the east entrance to Growhow on the Haverton Hill Road.Adjacent to the site is an operating wharf which can be utilised for importing and exporting goods. Access to the site is from the Haverton Hill road, which is linked to the main arterial A19 and A66 routes.
The site is a brown field site and is suitable for industrial use with local access to nearby site services.
