Technology Opportunity
The Reclamation Pond Site creates a number of opportunities:
1020 MW Power Station - A planning approval is in place for a 1020MW combined cycle Gas Fired Power Station, as shown in Phase 1 of the adjacent map.
It is anticipated that Phases 2 would be used if required during the Power Station development. There will be other potential development opportunities on Phase 2 thereafter.
Development opportunities – Approximately 118 acres of land with B2 planning designation for potentially high hazard plant and energy generation is available for further development of Phases 2, 3 and 4 of the Reclamation Pond Site. These areas of the Site, subject to the relevant planning requirements being met are ideal for the future development of a range of alternative energy facilities which benefit from the broader infrastructure that is available.
These opportunities/technologies include:
Hazardous and non hazardous landfill facilities can be made available by Impetus to any party seeking an integrated suite of assets for the development of new technology solutions. These technologies and facilities would all be supported by extensive road, rail and port connections to make the site unique in access terms for inbound and outbound waste, energy and other uses.
Phase 4 – This area of the Reclamation Pond Site has planning approval for infilling and future development. The infilling of Phase 4 does not attract Landfill Tax and due to a shortage of on-site materials this infilling could be completed using about 1.7million tonnes of external materials of a suitable type.
Slag Based Aggregate – We have over 6 million tonnes of road making slag on the Reclamation Pond Site.
